Susan Poulton

My work is an attempt to investigate chaotic and complex systems and is achieved through several processes including automatic drawing, on gesso and paper, monoprinting using my hands and various other organic objects, and painting with acrylic paint. Through the apparently random processes I use I am interested in the eventual order that appears. Also in the way these systems seem to affect natural phenomena, including the swarming and migrating habits of animals; the micro and macro systems involved and the patterns that appear in all of nature.
